taking Xena for a walk today. Going to mix in running a bit with it

Habits.... Seems I am not keeping up so very good habits and sliding back into a few bad ones.
up at 6 this morning folded laundry and did not have breakfast
had mt dew
lunch was at red robin where i had a veggie burger with all the fixin's and fries and 2 glasses of tea with peach flavoring but I did not add sugar.
had 2nd mt dew
did my warm ups and squats
dinner tonight is french onion soup and a glass of milk.

hmm, missed a week so not much had been going on. Had been working at at least 20 minutes of cardio a day last week. I did miss a few days and I did have more than one soda a day more than once. the cold turkey ting just does not work for me.
I did go to having my tea without sugar so that is another start. Strange but I think I am at the point I actually like it that way now?

Good weekend.Well, mostly good. :) Was able to ride bike on both saturday and sunday and even this morning. That is one thing I really like about the time change.
Didn't eat bad but didn't eat great all weekend. Way to much soda on sunday.
Today is good so far. got up at 5, rode my bike for 1/2 hour, drank water and had a caffeine tab.
Breakfast was left over risotto and a glass of milk
am snack was 1 cup of popcorn
had a salad for lunch and did have 1 soda
pm snack will be almonds
dinner is zucchini ankara with the caveat of not making too much. :)

had a fighting class all weekend. Worked hard, did not eat much but drank too much soda. I have picked up a few things that I am going to work for the rest of the year. Bruised, sore but good and inspired for more and to want to do more.

Learned a few things in the fighting class that I am going to work on each day here at work with my practice sword.
the thought is similar to doing squats/abs everyday. 100 shots with each arm every day. But being a bit puny I am taking a baby step and working on getting 50 done each day until after the next war war (Oct 7-15). then I will pump myself up and get to 100 eventually.

12 Days since the last time I have posted my food du jour
in that all we had a flood sweep through town. Southern half was evacuated but we were safe on a our hill top and took in a few friends who were asked to get out of their homes.
I spent a weekend running an event
prolly drank too much soda and had more ramen that I should but I will not deny that I have been having a bit of stress eating and drinking.
Working on getting my clock to reset and managed to get up everyday this week at 5:30. Next step will be to get exercise in that time restarted.
My schedule gets a bit quieter for a while. It will pick up again but right now I am reading a few books and enjoying the day.

wow where has the last two weeks gone? Ok I know where one week went. I guess I know where this week has gone too, trying to find and get back from last week. Still feel a bit like I am moving underwater and yet while out camping it was up and at'em everyday at 6:30 no matter what time I went to bed.
Going back on an anti soda kick for a while. I would say I am giving it up for good but it seems that is not something I can do so rather than making that sweeping statement, I am going to work on not drinking it again for awhile.

had a good breakafast of provolone cheese, tomato and lettuce sandwich and cup of tea

i will be gone for over a week but much activity will happen and far fewer time for any chances to not eat well. What we bring with us is what we have. So if I don't bring it, I don't eat it. or drink it.
I will be fighting hard, playing harder and possibly having an alcoholic drink or two. The site we are at is very hilly so I will be walking up and down lots.
I do have a plan to see what i can do to keep up my activity levels when I get back next wednesday as activity is so good for me.

Sunday was house cleaning and 3 hour melee fighter practice. Had a light lunch of a cheese sandwich and 1/2 glass of milk. Dinner was a black bean burrito and later I had a rootbeer float.

Up early on saturday to get my hair the right kind of curly for an event. But the humidity level was pretty high all day and by 10:00 my hard workin' greek curls went awry. Of course the water balloon fight around high noon didn't help either. Nor when a dear friend decided to dump the bucket of water from popped balloons over my head. Actually it felt pretty good and I didn't mind too much as I had spare outfit that I had planned on changing into later in the day. And the site had a dryer.

broke down and bought ramen yesterday so I had it this morning with green beans and a glass of milk. Sad that is really my comfort food.

lunch was tofu with garlic sauce and rice. ate it all with a big glass of water. I think the chef was a bit liberal with his red chili peppers as the heat in the room went up by about a billion degrees.

Way too much soda both days ate sparingly but had about three each day.
Worked my butt off both days. Well my butt is still there but I worked very hard saturday, moving brush from the campsite and staining boards. Sunday was harsh for 5 hours I scrubbed dog kennels at the human society.
I curled up into book the rest of sunday which means I have a bunch of things to catch up on on monday.

However I had to get Avalon to a dentist appt at 7:00. Her bike did not fit in my car so I had to wait with her at the office. Well I actually fell asleep in the car

It is a simple basket weave but set up in such a way that it will work for my idea.* you are now returned to the food blog.

Most excellent couple days. I slept in, got up early, got up later and did some work. Ate well, kept soda intake down and got in some activity include my abs and squats
Mostly spent lost of time with Jim which is a rare thing in my world as of late. In fact running off this weekend too. But dwelling on the nice, we watch the fireworks, went shopping, had couch time, saw a movie and had more couch time.
Only day I was a wee bit bad and I am not even mad at myself for it was sunday. I read a book almost all day. Do you realize how long it has been that I could sit down with a book to read all day? Just for fun? I lounged on the couch, all by myself. with a book and the occasional snack, ice cream, chips and quesadilla. And while there is a twinge of guilt behind it, I am owning it!
Also week two fo not buying any ramen. Not in the house, can't eat it!

Up early on saturday and down to clear brush and dead fall from our big war camp site in Walsendberg. We cleared wood and cleared wood and then found more to clear. Ate well but did have way too much soda
Don't remember what i had for breakfast. Lunch was a cheese sandwich, 1/2 bag of chips and water followed by an ice cream sandwich and more water. Dinner was 1/2 pbj, a couple small cheeses pieces, fruit salad, salad and some cucumbers. Had a bit of alcohol later but we were all in bed by 10:00 and thought it was midnight.
Sunday was some more hauling of things this time it was rocks. Only until noon.
Had 1/2 a breakfast burrito with eggs and hashbrowns and veggie green chili

on the drive home had the other 1/2 of my pbj

do the work is my current motto
I can complain about things but I can also just put on my big girl panties and do the work. I am not perfect. I want to lounge about on the couch with a bag of chips and a mt dew some days. I don't but I do give in now and again to have a can of soda and not beat myself up about it. I also do still eat ramen. I will not deny it is my comfort food and while I might argue that I have marginally made it healthier with the addition of green beans, I still know what I am eating is a big bowl of comfort.
Do the work- so there is. I know there are things I want to do and I have to do the work to get there.

Had a great workout last night and realized not enough water as I woke with a screaming headache.
But I watered up and got to it.

lunch was sesame tofu with white rice and more water
pm snack three french fries and a mt dew
dr. appointment with Avalon turned into some bigger then nothing except the fact that i was ravenous by the time we got home and had a bunch of cheese pizza snacks and a glass of milk

lost time!
Spent most of last week at a war that ended with a splash and rip of a storm. Got home on fathers day and went right over to my folks house to wish happy day!
Then from monday until thursday night I had been in Federal jury duty. It was an interesting experience and I drank way too much caffeine.
up early every day to get into down town denver by 7:30 and was home most nights by 6:30 Discovered I am not a big fan of traffic
Slept in this morning until 6
had ramen, green beans and milk for breakfast
no am snack
had mt dew
lunch was a pbj sandwich and a small ziplock baggie of popcorn and water
pm snack was 4 little krackle bars and water
dinner tonight will be salad.

nearly talked myself out of it but I didn't! Yeah me! rode my bike into work this morning. It was a lovely ride. I forgot about the clouds of bugs along the river, ack ack. By this afternoon teh wind will be blowing and they will not be there as I ride home.

Good weekend, ate good, had much activity.
Went to an event on saturday and after went to a fighter class from 6 until 10. Fighting and working hard pretty much that whole time.

I am struggling. I like the effects that exercise has on my health but some days I want to just wallow with a big ol bowl of velvetta, rotel and chips.

My body protested as I woke this morning from all I did yesterday. But Up I forced myself and hopped on the bike for 6.5 miles

did not get up early as I got home late last night after playing settlers of Catan and decided that I should shovel the walk for the milk man. Which lead to me shoveling the driveway and the sidewalk.

had a medicine ball here at work and did a bunch of squats. I say a bunch as I lost count a couple times so more than 50 happened in irregular reps. darn phone, doesn't it realize that I have to count?

OOOOOoooo how my legs do protest today. I did ride the bike for 6 miles this morning before the screaming got to me. It was me screaming. lol Seriously I went and did my arm work out

had a filling replaced at 8 am and the Novocain did not wear off until 1 so I did not have am snack or lunch , did drink water with a paper towel and I did have a mt dew.
Got a late lunch of stir fried tofu on rice noodles with veg and more water

today was aerobic so with my big glass of hot water with lemon, I did some house cleaning and made sure that I went up and down my stairs 20 times. my thighs are a bit mad at me.

I wish I could say I was virtuous this weekend. But I was not!

Did not exercise. Talked with my workout buddy and his take on it was that this was our transitional time. Talk about a get out of jail free card. But I liked his idea of giving ourselves the first week as a break in period. Week one is really week zero

Had a fantastic last couple of weeks. Ate well with little crap while camping. However the road food caught me up with my choices ending up being deep fried things and grilled cheese sandwiches.
I did fight almost every day and definitely walked around like crazy miles. I did drink more soda than I had in a long while and I think I actually got drunk one night.
But now I am home again and prolly not wandering about very far.
Am working with a friend to jump start ourselves back to healthy. We are doing the 12 week body for life program. Modified for a vegetarian and for using what weights and gear we have at home and not buying new stuff.
Today was day one. I did 18 minutes 6.5 miles on bile then did reps for my shoulders, triceps, biceps, pectorals and back.
Breakfast this morning was 2 egg whites poached on 1/2 of a whole wheat english muffin with a slice of low fat swiss cheese and water. i had my caffeine tab and much water
snack 1/4 cup of sunflower seeds and water
lunch is Quorn "sloppy joes" lettuce wrap and steamed asparagus and more water
afternoon snack is an orange
dinner is a salad and water
evening snack is cottage cheese and a slice of pineapple.
I am not accustomed to eating so much but it is not really as much as a i think as it is all very portion controlled.

Breakfast this morning was 2 egg whites poached on 1/2 of a whole wheat english muffin with a slice of low fat swiss cheese and water. i had my caffeine tab and much water
snack 1/4 cup of sunflower seeds and water
lunch is Quorn "sloppy joes" lettuce wrap and steamed asparagus and more water
afternoon snack is an orange
dinner is a salad and water
evening snack is cottage cheese and a slice of pineapple.
I am not accustomed to eating so much but it is not really as much as a i think as it is all very portion controlled.
I will post my measurements in the am and every week after.

WAR!
Which means not much junk food, little more than usual soda, but nothing to be horrified by and lots of alcohol.
But also means I am up every morning at 7 and was in to bed by 2 every night with much fighting and walking around. Very solid and healthy breakfasts and dinners lunches were little nibbles as it was too hot to eat anything more than that.
Got home this morning at 4am. Might have had some cinnamon bears around to help keep me awake for that last stretch.

Had water for breakfast and ramen with a glass of milk still relying on ramen as comfort food. Solution, don't let myself buy it. It really works that if I don't have it in the house, I can not eat it.

Getting home late last night meant there was not much to eat for breakfast. I had 2 pieces of toast

Busy weekend
saturday was not much food wise during the day. I did have a soda and lots of quince water
Dinner was two pieces of spinach cheese pie
Spent most of the day running around and a bunch of nervous energy that night. I did have two glasses of wine
Sunday breakfast was a mini bagel with cream cheese and a vitamin water. Had a breakfast burrito smothered in vege green chili- yum! Dinner was a cheese sub from subway and big cup of coke. Killer headache from another planet came to visit last night and is still buzzing in my head.
Needless to say I did not get up early and in fact almost fell back to sleep after my shower.
breakfast was oatmeal a piece of toast and 8 oz juice.
had mt dew, advil and lots of water to try and clear my head. thus far nothing is working. Seems like sleep would be a good thing

have plans to walk my dog both saturday and sunday.
I hope to make saturday a quiet low cal day as I will be spending much of it on the couch sewing button holes and hems.
Also in the plans is to finish warping up my living room loom and so I can weave next week again.
No fighting this weekend but I am going to be stretching and doing little interval training things to balance the couch time.
lol the best laid plans. I did get my walks in with Xena at least. Drank way too much soda and ate too much good food and junk food.

had no lunch as I had a dr. appointment. Sigh, the scale told me the price of my not getting up in the morning as it had me out at 215 lbs.

A good and bad weekend, bad as I drank two mt dews both saturday and sunday.
Good as I was very busy and on my feet on saturday from about 8:30 to 3:00 and then rushing about.

from 9-4 fought in various battles when not fighting walking around in my armor.
Dinner was a plate of Huhot stir fry veggies and noodles with a salad and water, lots and lots of water.
I did end up having a bit of alcohol that evening
Sunday up and scrambled eggs and a yogurt. Oj to drink
drove back from NE. We stopped for lunch and it was nothing I could eat beside some french fries. Had an apple and rice crispie treat along with a mt dew.

got hit hard with something. Spent most of my time on the couch with a box of tissues drinking anything I could, several pots of tea, gingerale, oj, water and some milk. I did have ramen a couple times as that salty tasted good. I must have maxed my tastebuds as the last one I ate on sunday no longer tasted good. I did not do much of anything except blow my nose all weekend. Jim and I spent saturday on the couch in a big fluffy blanket watching dr. who. I think I did make myself eat some pad thai for dinner. Sunday night I suddenly became really hungry but as I didn't go out of the house there was nothing much to eat. I did find a bag of doritoes. I did manage to not eat the whole bag.

Have an all day event on saturday which will be a lot of on my feet and many folks trying to feed me sweets.
I plan to make a good breakfast of scrambled eggs with fresh basil and tomatoes, oven baked potatoes and juice. ( will also have bacon for my hunny and friends)
Sunday is early up and war practice. Which will be me fighting on and off for about 4-5 hours. I hope it will burn off all the sweets that tempt me the day before.

Had a bagel with cream cheese, green onions and fresh tomatoes for breakfast with juice.
Had no snacks today but did have a cheese sandwich from schlotzky's with bbq chips.
I also did break down and have a mt dew.
Dinner tonight is spinach tortellini soup and a glass of milk

not up as early as I would have liked but since I worked my backside off last night at practice, I think it is okay. I will say that even one day back on my bike has made my knees feel better.
So I did get up at some point
breakfast was oatmeal and a cup of juice. Oatmeal had 1tsp butter and brown sugar
snacks today are apple and almonds
lunch is a salad with blue cheese, red onions, craisins and poppy seed dressing and water
Dinner tonight is grilled cheese and tomato soup. and a glass of milk

Up early and off to a grand start
8.6 miles and some water to drink I will admit that my left knee is still unhappy so we were at a much lower speed than I usually run at but still got the time and distance. Aiming for a stronger knee, not to devastate it.
breakfast was a glass of juice, 1 egg and two pieces of whole wheat toast.
more water at work.
snacks were apple and almonds and 3 orange lifesavers with more water
dinner tonight is black eyed peas, brown rice and steamed swiss chard. with a glass of milk
Going to do some fighter practice tonight and work on my spear and foot work.
