Hmm, not sure where my blogging went. Could be that the holiday treats are showing up and I am not being very good? I have been riding the bike everyday for at least 13 miles.

Had a chance to really get back into my home this weekend. All the laundry is done and put away.
Gifts are sorted and ready to be mailed.
Will get the holiday stuff up this week and getting ready for all that hoopla.
Made a turkey dinner for my hunny and a bunch of friends as our thanksgiving dinner in Paris was Fondue- which was lovely and I would not mind that becoming a tradition.

schedule a bit wonky still due to jet lag but have managed to ride the bike for 40-45 minutes each morning and even get a walk in with Xena. eating small portions and doing good on my soda intake maybe this new year will see me get down to one every other day.

Walked my ass off in Paris and ate so very well.
I really did lose a bit of my tuckus. At one point near the end of the trip we were walking and suddenly things felt weird. My skirt had slipped off and fortunately I had a long coat on to cover my rear end. But that was how much walk we did.

had water and rode my exercise bike for 1/2. It doesn't seem right that I go 10 miles in 1/2 on the stationary bike but only get 4 miles in 20 minutes on the road. Anyway did it.

fixed the exercise bike and rode for 25 minutes this morning. I have discovered the one big difference between an exercise bike and riding- no coasting, none what so ever so must pedal pedal pedal.

I ended up eating something very bad for me on saturday morning at Cracker Barrel. Not bad calorie wise but baaaaaddd and all calories that day moved through in mysterious ways. I drank two liters of gingerale and 3 mt dews. I am calling that day a wash , as it were.
Sunday was busy cleaned in the morning and about lunch time was keeping down some food. I made french onion soup for dinner and caramel corn.

Jim and I will be celebrating our anniversary in PARIS in two weeks!

Odd side effect- I have been cold lately. I am not sure if that is from the limited calories or lack of foot pounding activity.

I got the exercise bike and so I rode it for about 20 minutes this morning. It was out in teh garage so I had no computer set up for resistance. We will be moving it into the house tonight and I hope that the computer bits work. I was able to work up a sweat though and it felt mighty good!

I like the salad days and i think if I change the kind of yogurt that might help. the almonds make a nice salty crunchy snack. The miso soup is just fine but I think part of my joy in eating comes from texture. I suspect that is why I like the breakfast combo so much and can continue to eat that for a long time. 2 cups of brown rice and 2 cakes of tofu make it through the week, even with my girls munching on it. the lettuce barely made it but I don't think I will buy a second head.

Up and moving right along

Have discovered that a bit of fat helps me keep from strangling my sister when she is in a mood. Yep she is in one today and I am not finding my normal amounts of calm.

Dinner ended up being two cheese and salsa quesadillas.
I did get about a 1/2 walk in. I was at work all alone so just walked around the plant. :)

experimental day #2
I went to bed last night at 7:00 thinking I might get a little aerobic activity in but instead I fell fast asleep and slept until 5:00am. I guess I need ed some sleep but then again don't we all need a little extra. Yes Reagan I am looking at you. :)
Had 1/2 cup brown rice, 1/4 cup grilled tofu and tablespoon peanut sauce all wrapped in a crispy crunchy lettuce leaf- well two leaves. I also had a big glass of water and a cup of my kick ass tea
Drove into work and had a dentist appointment. The Novocaine seemed to last for many hours.
Eventually I was too hungry so ate my lunch. I ate slow as to not catch my lip. I had a salad with blue cheese, craisins, red onion and poppyseed dressing. And a big cup of water.

had 25 almonds and more water and I will have my apple here soon.
Dinner tonight is leftovers- which is usually my danger eating night but I am going to make myself a cheese sandwich and have a glass of milk
might get out for a walk with Xena. I know she would appreciate it.

Did pretty good all weekend. Walked both days and kept my soda consumption down to one a day. Ate pretty healthy. Did find myself wanting snacks but since I haven't been buying junk food there was none in the house to be had!

So I am going to run an experiment on myself for the next month
breakfast will be pan seared tofu, brown rice, peanut sauce and lettuce wraps.- no slacking on that so will have to be very proactive making the rice. Lunches, including chinese tuesday, will be either, miso soup, salad and an apple or miso soup, yogurt and an apple with almonds for snack and dinner will be whatever I am making for dinner. My bike riding will start to lessen here soon and I am not liking that very much. I like how I feel riding in. I am thinking of picking up a stationary bike for the winter months so at least I can get some time on it in. I can find some cheapish ones on craigslist and that would help me keep at least somewhat in shape for when the weather is nice.

Brekkies was a glass of milk and left over risotto
rode my bike into work. It was cold enough for me to wear sweat pants. It was cool because the sweat pants are big on me! I haven't had baggy sweatpants in a really long time.

Saturday was rocking, got a bunch of little things done and did not over consume soda. Made the black bean pasties for dinner with salad. I did end up having 2 1/2 pasties as they are the best fresh from the oven.
sunday started with a croissant and tea and a 5 mile hike with some really good elevation.Then I got home had my one mt dew and started to eat. I was suddenly so very very hungry. I had a bowl of chai scream, some almonds, a piece of pizza. Then I made dinner which was risotto and sweet potatoes and a big glass of milk. Then I made some shortbread and had 2 pieces of that with a cup of tea.

Spent much of the weekend on the road. I did get a walk in on friday before the 12 hour car ride. I drank far too much soda over the weekend. But I also felt it important to keep awake and talk with the driver. Made sure to bring good car snacks- cheese, almonds, bread, apples, peanut butter and grapes. No chips or candy.
Friday's meals- two pieces of toast w/peanut butter and a 6"subway veggie delight sandwich
saturday had some scrambled eggs for brekkies, bread, peanut butter and apple for lunch, dinner was a salad a french fries. I felt damn lucky to find some veggies in El Paso.

Got up early and Avalon and I went for our hike on Rabbit mountain.
I had a cup of tea and two pieces of toast for brekkies.
The hike was a great gauge for us. It was 4 miles and took us about 2 hours. We discovered that the two piece of toast was not enough fuel as by the end we were goofy and I was a bit stumbly.
In the car we had string cheese, grapes and wasabi almonds.
I did end up having far more soda as we then went to play D&D and stayed up until 2:00am. Oh man does that knock my system out the next day.
Was up around 8 on sunday and did all the things I normally do. Was good about soda and food and did get an hour walk in after dinner. I made raspberry coulies with yogurt honey mousse. Very tasty- and could not eat the whole thing- plus it looked very pretty.

dinner tonight is pizza with some friends. I am hoping that it is actually kind of an early night so I can get some time with my hunny and I am going out for a hike saturday morning. A real hike with Avalon to Rabbit mountain.

I suspect that is why I see the difference in my hips and you know as long as the numbers keep going down, I am happy. Would like to see my calves go down as boot season is here and there are so many tasty new boots out there. But then again I have a few decent pair that I can wear so, I guess never mind this last bit.

Up kind of early on saturday

took Xena for a walk- much shorter than the night before as I was a little stiff.
Spent much of the day cooking for birthday party bbq later on.
dinner was grilled zucchini, asparagus and salad. The was cake afterward lemon pound cake
had mt dew early in the am and then a coke later on as we went to a club to dance. The club played lovely 80's new wave music. Oh my how my thighs ached. But we danced like crazy. got home around 1:00am. I think the last time we went dancing was way too long ago
Sunday was a bit dragging ass but since we had to clean, it had to be done. Made scrambled eggs for breakfast. Cleaning was actually good as it limbered me up from being stiff from dancing. Sweated like crazy in the garage as I fixed a stained glass window for Colleen. Brought grapes, red pepper and snow peas to the D&D game so nibbled on those and had some mixed nuts for dinner. I did have a second soda as we stayed up late and played.
Monday, I got up early and worked on weaving. I had Timony go buy us some bagels. Yum, they were very good. I had two! kind of skipped lunch as the bagels were eaten late in the day. I did drink just tons of water and only one soda. Went for a lovely long walk with Xena. We watched the smoke plume traveling east on the hot dry winds.

I went for a hugely long walk with Xena in the evening. We walked up through the part of Foxhill that Patty, Kay , Andy and JJ all lived in. I haven't been in that part since I have moved back. No real reason I guess. But it was a good walk. The trees have grown up so much that I wasn't thrown back in time or anything.

Had kick ass tea but it did not help with my dragging ass. Then when I sneezed, I discovered why I was dragging ass. The red coats began their march with my sneeze. Oh joy, yippee
breakfast was ramen and milk yep and I am unapologetic about that. Had multi and iron tab this morning.
Rode into work today and jeez, I needed my gloves. First night of September and they have turned off the heat.

did have a second soda but it was a sprite so no extra caffeine
Dinner tonight is Penne ala vodka, green beans and salad. Might also cook up a quiche as I have the stuff and that will give leftovers for my leftover eaters.

rode in today. Discovered why riding my bike has been so very hard lately. My back tire was way down in air. Like more than 3/4ths. I check it every week but must have missed that week. Which makes me mighty happy as I thought it was me!

I am a little stressed out as we have a friend who is staying with us kind of long term. She was in a bad relationship and needed to get out. Of course we will do what we can to help her but she is a bit needy. She is working on it but I am a little dismayed to find her asking me for permission to do stuff. She is much older than I and it just seemed full of odd to be telling her it is okay is she goes out with friends.
Dinner tonight will be the ratatouille I didn't make last night and milk. Okay, still didn't make it

breakfast was a poached egg and english muffin water and multivitamin
it was hotter than I expected this morning when I rode into work. I was sooooo hot and sweaty.
drank my whole water bottle in less than a 1/2 and then refilled it.
Lunch was a piece of leftover margarita pizza, small salad with ranch dressing and some bbq chips. Need the sodium- right!
had mt dew
got home and ate some smoked almonds and am really feeling like I want more salt.
dinner tonight was spinach feta noodles and bread with roasted garlic and water
I will also be making tapioca but that is really just to use up my milk before milk day tomorrow. One thing about making it from scratch is that it is actually very high in protein. Takes four eggs and much milk.

I have a guest at the house. A friend who needed a place to stay and get her stuff together after a bad break up. Only problem is that she is an early riser too and very afraid of my dog. I have a guest at the house. A friend who needed a place to stay and get her stuff together after a bad break up. Only problem is that she is an early riser too and very afraid of my dog. Strange busy weekend
ended up having 4 sodas on saturday! Yikes! Did get much accomplished and played a great game of D&D But YIKES! Sunday had a cup of coffee and no sodas. Helped a friend move into our spare bedroom till she can get on her feet.

Up early
had water and water and then some more water. Apparently, I was thirsty this morning.
Breakfast was brown rice, tofu, lettuce wrap with peanut sauce
rode bike in (yeah! day four in a row- my ass complained a little bit but I got to work and did some stretches.)
had more water but not as much as usual
will have mt dew-soon as there is a caffeine headache lurking.
Lunch is a cheese sandwich and more water
Dinner was not as healthy as planned
ended up having an ice cream sandwich and 1/2
more than one handful of doritos and milk. Blech

So he gets pork chops with apricot sauce to go with his meal. Jim gets it as well. That makes him very happy when I cook meat. So here is hoping that I can cook it decently. Never have cooked a pork chop in my life.

It has been so very humid here that we are not cooling off at night or during the day. It rained yesterday and I was expecting it to be so very cold at red rocks. It was not. So we all got wet from the rain and them we were muggy. :P
Dinner tonight is corn chowder and milk.
and some homemade cherry coconut ice cream.

But did have second dew. Keep trying to tell myself that it is acid that is eating through my innards. But the primitive part of me goes- but it tastes soooooooo good!

I am intrigued to see what happens in the next month as I have gotten the three day a week biking down to a real schedule type of thing. Non payday week is M-W-F and payday week is T-W-TH. Avalon has asked me to get some tennis whacking in the mix and that can't hurt. Well it could if I don't wear my brace. :)

Up early and damn- reached for the first mt dew of the day- crap crap crap. Thoughts on why I can't break the soda- I like the caffeine and flavor. What can I do? I have tried replacing it with oj and that just gets my tummy upset. I have tried using tea to wean me off the soda and while I adore a cup of tea after a period of a couple weeks, I find my eye starts to twitch. In fact, green tea starts it up RIGHT away. Which cuts out these cool instant tea from celestial seasonings.
Breakfast was two pieces of toast.

Saturday was full of whole house fun as the girls were out. We did go out for lunch to red robin. Had a veggie burger and fries and a coke.
Avalon talked me into playing tennis- well hit a tennis ball about in a tennis court, not actually playing the game.
Sunday was a busy day. Had toast for breakfast
we cleaned at work and then I mowed the lawn, went grocery shopping and did the laundry.
Lunch was late but had a swiss cheese and pickle sandwich. I did have a mt dew

Even with all the picnics and bbq's I maintained good eating habits.
Worked hard out in the yard on saturday- finally got all the bushes that were crowding the lilacs cut out. 3 trucks loads worth.
Did have two sodas on saturday but only one on sunday and none on monday.
Sunday was devoted to regular house hold chores and then it rained so we did not go out for fireworks.
Monday was a bit lazy. Made a pancake breakfast for the family and spent the rest of the day working on a huge weaving project.

Had a friend come in very early this morning 2:30 stayed up til 3:30. Alarm went off at 5 but I told it in no uncertain terms to piss off. I did finally crawl out of bed at 6:00 mostly because my friend brought a dog with her and he and Xena decided to jingle their collars so I would let them out.

up early and sewing a bunch of simple tunics for a friend.
In the middle of sewing I broke down and just cried for about a 1/2 hour. I have no idea what the f**k that was about. Even after I finished sobbing, I had no idea why it started. I had turned the sprinkler on in the backyard. As I ruminate over it now, maybe it just was overwhelmed by everything going on, sprinkler system is broken, our fence is falling down, the AC broke last night.

Lunch was chinese tuesday. It really is the only day I buy my lunch anymore and I think I need to stop as I end up all flushed from the MSG. Had water and a mt dew
I have decided that to counter my sadness earlier I need to remember what I am thankful for: My friends, my family, my house, my dogs, enough to eat, enough to pay the bills, good health, laughter at both myself and with others, being strong enough to ride my bike to work, living in a place that I can ride my bike, health children, a husband who loves me so very much, clean sheets, indoor plumbing, able to take a deep breathe, keen fashion sense, sci fi movies and books, a sense of wonder that is still intact and love. above all things love.
Dinner tonight is mac and cheese, corn and black beans with salsa. But might just be a popcicle instead

eating ice cream with hot fudge sauce almost every night
my soda intake went back up to two this week.
feeling stressed here at work. We have had very little work this month come through the doors
and the scales and tape measure tell the horrid truth

So instead had two handfuls of dry roasted peanuts and a glass of water

Not on the menu were the gummy colas. And yes I know gummies are usually made with gelatin. Just sometimes can't resist that texture

Up early
breakfast was 2 piece of toast and tea
lunch was a salad and some tasty rice cakes and water
having mt dew
dinner tonight is pasta with sun dried tomato cream sauce
now for the big stuff:

Not sure what I can give as a reason for this but I am not going to say I don't like it!
I am thinking maybe the brown rice and tofu for breakfast? I will keep going with it and see what happens for next month. Weather might finally be changing enough for me to ride my bike in. That will add a bonus. If it doesn't I am just going to get my bum up and start walking at night after dinner. I know I will feel better for doing it but still have some weirdness for walking when people are out and about. for whatever reason they seem to feel compelled to yell things at me from passing cars. that so very much sucks

well behaved over the weekend with everything.
had fairly quiet days and so just moved at my own speed. It was a nice and quiet weekend.
Got to really get some cooking done, which makes me happy and gets tasty food on the table.

dinner tonight is an Indian feast of pakoras with fiery tomato and onion relish, samosas with sweet and sour tamarind chutney and saag paneer over basmati rice. Since it if my first time cooking all this, I hope it goes well. Having friends over to watch a couple vids and Eat! (or else we will buy a couple pizzas)

been a slug butt in the am

Still a bit sluggish this morning but then I got going and started to clean and dust and tidy and put away and well, found lots of stuff to do rather than actually thinking about going to work or weaving. Had my cup of tea.

Crapastic weekend. It was a good and hugely busy weekend but ate crap and drank far too much soda and tea. Got home at 1:00 friday night and had to be up at 5 for a four hour drive north to casper. We had string cheese and almonds in the car so that was lunch and breakfast. I had a big cup of tea before I left, a can of coke and two snapple peach teas on the way home as I was staying awake to keep the driver awake. He had also been out late on friday. We saw Iron man 2. when we got home around 8:30 we went out for dinner and I had some alcoholic peach drink, garlic mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli and a salad with ranch dressing. Oh and a LOT of twizzler's strawberry licorice
Sunday was up early for mother's day, the girls made me an egg over easy and toast with cup of tea. Then had brunch, fruit, quiche and some kind of potatoes

All I wanted for breakfast was a spoonful of hot fudge sauce
but had ramen and milk instead- sooooo not much better
Oh man! I just realized that this is May! I had big plans for May. So I will be starting these big plans with breakfast being brown rice, tofu and lettuce and then lunch is salad and miso soup.

breakfast was 1/3 cup brown rice, tofu with peanut sauce wrapped in lettuce leaves. I had forgotten how much I really enjoy eating that and how really filling it is. Also have glass of oj and some water

Dinner tonight is scrounge- which will prolly be a quesadilla
Ended up going out to TGIF and having almost two whole bowls of deep fried green beans with wasabi ranch dressing. On the up side we played a trivia game and beat the high school team who had been kicking our butts by 4 points. Yeah Us! If we ever do it again need someone who knows sports and beers

Friends took me to brunch on sunday at the Greenbriar. Yes temptation came around.
It was a lovely weekend. Fairly quiet for me. The girls scooted out of the house so Jim and I had it to ourselves and we curled up on the couch and watched buffy episodes and then ordered in for dinner and the burnt off some of the calories.

Been having a hard time keeping to one soda a day. And in fact am on my second one right now. Harder to kick than cutting down to two.
However there has been some good new on the other fronts. I have been eating good and keeping things in moderation and woot the scales are talking to me!

would have been up early if I had not set the alarm for pm instead of am. Still up at 6 and got all my laundry put away.
felt hungry for something and then everything I went to eat had no appeal
made a cup of peach tea, opened a can of mt dew
having warm water and peppermints right now
I did eat some lunch. Had an egg salad sandwich
debating on whether or not to cook tonight. Many leftovers in the fridge
end up kind of grazing on some easter candy and then some chili cheese fritoes but nothing caught my tastes. Had the girls pick up some goat cheese and made broiled asparagus with garlic and rosemary and goat cheese. I didn't like the texture of the broiled asparagus

was woken up in the middle of the night by a friend whose prescription cocktail has changes and did not realize that it was am not pm. Talked to them for a bit and then tried to get back to sleep.
Not so good on the getting back to sleep. Fits and starts
so I slept in, We had a freak spring snow storm. It dropped 10 inches in 24 hours and then melted away for most of the day.

I think I am going to run an experiment on myself in May.
I am going to have the brown rice and tofu lettuce wraps every morning and miso soup with salad for lunch. Then cut out all sugar in forms of soda and in my tea. That way I can see if I could jump start myself to get out of the my weight rut.
had a cup of tea and maybe this could be why i am feeling out of sorts as my kick ass tea is almost all gone. :( so I have been drinking other kinds and they just are not the same.

Again pretty regular stuff
I did have three sodas on saturday so not so very good there
feeling some stress from myself to get a bunch of things done and the time change still has me wonky in the mornings
Made an interesting tart of potatoes, onions eggs and cheese. I had some black truffle salt that I added and o-lalalalala it was yummy. It was dinner on both sunday and monday nights

Hate, hate, hate time change. Makes mornings soooooo hard
But I was up at 5 forced myself out of bed and drank my cup of tea
Breakfast was cursed ramen and milk and the worst part is that I like the way it tastes

Tonight dinner is colcannon, cabbage, mashed potatoes and butter, lots of butter oh and some green onions and cottage cheese

Mostly good weekend. I did have two sodas on Saturday and ramen. But I am not over doing them which makes me feel good. Spent most of the weekend on the couch sewing 80 button holes on a handwoven dress.

Up and weaving. I did a bunch of extra cleaning in the craft room but did get a few inches done on my current project.

Cleaned the garage a little bit and got the craft room all tidied up. We are going to get some good shelving and really clean and organize the garage so we can find all the tools. and screws and parts and well hopefully everything plus still fit the the motorcycles, bicycle, lawn mower and my van. With room for my work bench and decent working space. Yep, I really do want it all.

Up as usual. I was tired this morning and longed to linger but dragged myself out of bed.
Had cup of tea and 1/2 cup oj
breakfast was 1/2 cup of oatmeal
had a thin slice of a peach strudel my dad brought in
mt dew
had hot & sour soup, and 1/3 of my tofu with garlic sauce and white rice for lunch and 32 oz of water
Dinner tonight will be a black bean pastie.

Not really sure where it went but away it did go. I was good with food intake and mt dew or any other soda. I do find about once a week I have been having a root beer in addition to the mt dew.
But the thing that really has me amazed with it all is that I went to the store to buy a pair of Jeans- hateful heinous thing, shopping. But I had to go down a size in my pants. That felt good. Of course I think they have changed the sizes on jeans and I only say that as I tried on a skirt in the same size as the pants and had to go back to the size I was expecting.

up early although begrudgingly. Wanted more sleep but was productive instead.
I figured since today was the first friday in lent that I would do a limited fast
Had my regular cup of tea for breakfast and 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt as a start to finding my connection with the universe.
Shoveled the snow
came to work and discovered myself dropping things and being irritated, irrational and just feeling odd. the universe was speaking to me. It said Jeanne-Marie, you are hypoglycemic and you know this so what are you thinking by fasting? Especially since you have some great degree of physical labor happening? You silly goose go get some food, now!
So I did. But the universe failed to be thrilled with my choice of deep fried cheese sticks and marinara sauce. Regardless, I was happy with it.
Had mt dew with my sticks of deep fried fat and I feel like a creature in the flow of the cosmic stream once more.
