It has been a day of not much food thus far.
I slept in this morning.
all I have had so far today 3 cans of mt dew.
That is it and that sucks because I know that later I will be ravenous and over eat.
Already food visions are dancing in my head of velvetta/rotel con queso with doritoes.
Sigh- working on thoughts for the new year with regards to better habits.

dec 27

woke up with a tooth ache this morning. The same tooth that was bothering me this summer. :(
Finished weaving Brian's blanket today. I did get the table cover for my sister and the miniature rugs for my mom all done and ready by 2:00pm on Christmas day. I have three empty looms- how weird is that? No worries though I have projects lined up for each empty loom already.
As for eating- I have been really pushing portion control on the holiday foods. One problem I have run into is that I need to do a good shop so there is good food to eat in the house and not just goodies. I have upped my caffeine intake to tend the rush but really have been pleased that I haven't upped food during this time.
Need more water as my brain is dehydrated.

So there are a few days missing in here not because I am ashamed just running out of time right now. I have been making gifts mostly for this year and the weather has conspired to thwart me. It has been so cold here that even when I have my heater on in garage I can not get my solder to flow. It melts and blobs. grrrrrr.
I have been eating mostly similar to what I have written before with one exception- no ramen. I am making a point of not buying it as it is too easy for me.
Avalon is home and i have been cooking a little extra for her but nothing out of the regular scope of dinners.
We are doing our christmas tonight as Jim works from midnight to noon and we then rush to my moms for the next round of holiday fun.
My mom slipped yesterday and broke her arm. She is at the orthopedic surgeon right now. Hopefully it is a clean fracture and they just cast her and send her on her way.

although I had work to do I stayed in bed until six and could happily go back to bed right now. Went to a very late night movie- Twilight- pretty angsty teen vampire flick. It was interesting to think about if you had to spend the rest of eternity with the person you were with at 17. Yikes!

so things I am going to work on as part of my self revolution.
1. In the am when I wake for weaving or stuff- make that first drink water and try to pull back on
the amount of caffeine and soda.
2. get myself out for a walk- even just a little one with or without the dog

today has been pretty much the same thing you have seen for a while
up at 5 grab a can of mt dew
breakfast ramen and milk
lunch is not happening because I forgot to make it
soda around 10:00 and 1:00
dinner tonight is ghoulash- I know it is not really spelled that way but we had it once for Halloween and now I can't stop thinking of it as ghoulish ghoulash. Maybe I will pick up some crusty french bread. Salad and cottage cheese on the side.

I think I could just start copying each day as I eat at surprisingly regular times.

11:30 cheese sandwich from Schlotskys and water

5:00 potato burrito with lettuce and salsa
Made cheese spread for my mom to give out. Had to laugh at that but she worked out an exchange.
My nephew is taking this protien powder stuff and last night I got a look at it's name. I couldn't stop giggling. It is called "Up Your Mass" god's own truth!

11:30 tofu in garlic sauce with rice and 24 oz water.
1:00 mt dew and two orange slices
5:00 CLT- smoked provolone cheese thrown into a pan and fried. It comes out crispy and from what I remember similar to bacon with tomato slices, lettuce and mayo.

7:00 poached egg on english muffin with cheddar cheese and butter
9:00 cup of mint tea ( mopping up water from frozen pipes here at work)
11:00 can of mt dew
12:00 4 club crackers and 6 slices of cheddar cheese. I know it is uneven but it was what I had to work with. Other thing I have noticed is that I really like my cheese and dairy.
5:30( yes I am looking into the future on this one) large helping of risotto and steamed cauliflower.

Up at 7:00 much snow outside- BIG CUP of mint tea with sugar
8:00 shoveled snow off driveway and walk way and then watched as more snow fell to hide my work.
9:00 sweep and mop the plant + shovel some snow here- front walk, a couple paths to cars

12:30 my favorite fall back meal of ramen and milk
4:00 shortbread cookie and cup of pomegranate 7-up
5:00 bowl of v-8 soup
6:00 popcorn with butter and nutritional yeast and more pom 7-up as it is very very tasty
5-8 small spoons and tastes of Timony's fudge making experiments
8:30-5:00 crazy a** dreams from all the chocolate before bedtime

5:00 couple sips from my can of mt dew. I think I might be coming down with a cold so it tasted weird.
7;00 ramen and 12 oz of milk- other note is that I need to really plan breakfast and not fall back on ramen so much. I think part of its appeal is that it is quick and I don't have to think about it- just make it and eat it and get on with the myriad of stuff I planned for in the day. You see I know I need to eat or I will get grumpy.
9:00 can of mt dew- drank the whole thing
12:00 left over spinach feta noodles and can of sprite end of the bag of craisans.
Tonight is a non-cooking night. I have the finishing of a project- need to sew about 50,000 button holes on a bodice for tomorrow- perhaps the number is closer to 50 but I think it counts as a lot.

One of my goals for this blog is to look at my very real eating habits and try to change some of them. 1. I drink far too much soda.
2. my need to eat gets over run by my activities and so I tend to grab something fast that might not be so very good for me
3. I need to have a variety of food on hand at work for lunches- not just string cheese and peanuts.

7:15 swiss cheese sandwich with pickle
8:30 cup of mint tea
lunch was my last piece of string cheese and the bottom of the peanut can. One thing that blogging has really pointed out to me is if I am not buying lunch out- which I am really trying hard not to- then damn it bring something decent to eat.
5:00 two helpings of spinach feta noodles- again if I eat crap during the day I get super hungry at night and over eat. The other thing that blogging points out is that while I get some veg in my diet I eat very little fruit. Maybe I will start bring some apples to work for days when I need a snack as I forgot lunch or at least get off being lazy and make myself a lunch.

6:00- was dreaming so hard and fast that I opted to sleep in this morning. I had a can of coke and got a bit of weaving done
7:00 ramen and 12 oz of milk
9:00 cup of mint magic tea with three sugars
11:00 mock sloppy joes, small bag of potato chips- because you have to mush the chips in the hot sandwich and can of mt dew

Ironic that the product I like for meat substitution is made from mushrooms. But it doesn't have the texture and that is really what I detest about mushrooms and eggplant- that slimy texture-brrr gives me the shudders just thinking about them. This stuff works great when I want the feel of a certain dish- sloppy joes can be made with frozen tofu but the consistency is so much better with the Quorn crumbles.
5:00 1/2 a twice baked potato with cheese and 2 helpings of green bean casserole. Glass of water and some crystallized ginger.

5:00 can of mt dew
7:00 melted swiss cheese and dill pickle sandwich. I say melted because I throw it in the microwave rather than grilling it. Glass of coke
9:00can of mt dew.
11-2 several handfuls of peanuts and 2 string cheeses can of mt dew
5:00 two helpings of pasta with sun-dried tomato cream sauce- pure heaven! 2 hunks of bread big glass of water and a green salad with ranch dressing.
Couple things I notice is that if I don't have a good lunch- I will over eat at dinner. Need to work on bringing actual food for lunch not just living on peanuts ans string cheese.

8:00 1/2 cup oatmeal w/ milk,butter and brown sugar. Big old cup of coffee with too much milk and sugar. Went to storage and found the holiday boxes so we can get the tree up today and the decorating started.
12:00 ramen and milk
2:00 glass of coke
6:00 two mock sloppy joes with potato chips and a glass of milk.
Tree is all up and nearly done. Jim wasn't feeling well so we saved him some ornaments and decorating.

6:00 potato pancakes with applesauce and sour cream. I am not inclined to mention how many but as I missed lunch I ate more than I should have and my tummy let me know later.
Worked with Timony all afternoon on an art project. It was fun to have time to just hang around with her. Usually we are rushing about with one thing or another so un-rushed time was nice.

Up bright and early at 5:00. You see I have to get the project off my big loom so I can do a blanket for my brother in law for Christmas. The problem with the current project is that it is yardage of fine weaving- fool that I am I waited to late to get moving on it. It will get done and so will the blanket- it will get done! I had a cup of coffee with weaving this morning
7:00 bagel w/cream cheese and tomato. finished coffee
9:00 can of mt dew
11:30 two string cheeses and a couple handfuls of peanuts with a cna of mt.dew
5:00 ramen with a glass of milk

5:30 up and on the loom with visions swirling in my head can of mt dew
7:00 1/2 cup of oatmeal with brown sugar milk and butter
8:30 cup of mint tea drank it way to fast as it is cold and snowing here and I was shoveling with me hat!
9:00 cup of onion soup and hunk of bread.
11:45 half a really gross grilled cheese sandwich and a couple rock hard french fries. can of mt dew
I mean really how the hell can folks mess up a grilled cheese sandwich- does that seem right to you?
4:30 left over spaghetti glass of milk
6:00 3 chocolate chip cookies and Star Trek the next generation-eating the cookies while watching the vid.
Another busy day. I have to laugh, on busy days I don't weave here at work. Which is ok as I would rather work. But there is a part of me worried about holiday prezzies.

11:30 tofu with garlic sauce and a huge glass of H2O
5:00 spaghetti with tomato sauce, cottage cheese and a green salad with blue cheese dressing. 12 oz milk
8:00 3 chocolate chip cookies and 1/2 glass milk
It was a good busy day at work. Always make me feel optimistic. Went to the Handweaver's guild of Boulder sale last night. It is very cool and amazing and a kick in the pants. there are handwoven towels for 20.00 being sold there. I give mine away for free- but it did make me think that maybe next year I would put some things into the sale. Means I will have to work- not a problem. And a reason to experiment with weave structures.

Alarm went off at 5:00 and I remember going mmmm I should get up.
6:00 up and a large cup of peppermint coffee with enough sugar and milk to make it drinkable. By 6:30 there were no more cobwebs in my head!
7:00 two pieces of toast with butter and rest of coffee.
I am in a great mood- must be the caffeine from a different source. But I have been singing all day at work. That hasn't happened for a couple years.
9:30 can of mt dew
11:30 cheese sandwich with lettuce tomato and pickle and can of mt dew and still humming along
It was a not cooking night so I made chocolate chip cookies- nope no logic working there.
5:30 6 cookies and huge glass of milk
was really hungry when I got home from my tuesday night meetings but decided that what i wanted to nosh on was nothing in the house so I went to bed.

Nov 30

Bagel with cream cheese around 7:30 and guess what else? can of mt dew!
Cleaned the plant at 9:00
had a cucumber sandwich for lunch and a big cup of tea with 2 large teaspoons of sugar around 11:30
traveled down to denver to help someone warp up their loom. Drove into a snow storm It was a weirdo- snow storm as I live farther north and it was bright and sunny where I was. I only traveled about 30 miles into raging winter. Fun to drive home out of it. Sun was still shining when I got home. Somewhere in the snow storm I drank another can of mt dew.
5:30 made zucchini ankara for dinner. Yellow and green zucs, onion, garlic, lemon juice, mint and chickpeas served on cous cous with feta cheese.
7:00 big cup of mint tea 2 teaspoons sugar.

nov 29th

starting off slowly 7:30 up and a large cup of tea as I look out over the freshly fallen snow. Traveling up to the mountains this morning for our yearly family memorial. We go to what once was the glacier overlook on 7 and say the rosary and sing a hymn for my grand parents.
11:00 cheese omelet two pieces wheat toast w/butter and german fries. two cups of coffee. Brunch with my folks and the rest who joined us up on the mountain. Yep I had coffee and at one point I realized I was over caffeinated.
3;00 4 cheese pizza poppers and a can of mt dew
6:30 12 oz milk and nacho cheese doritoes- again with the lazy about making dinner. Not very wise choice. Not only because it isn't good for me but now I have heart burn. I guess the universe is trying to tell me something

A slug-a-bed again today not up until 7:30
9:00 a can of coke
Putting in a few hours here at work today. End of the month- and a very weak month it has been.
11:00 1can mt dew and 8 club crackers with 4 slice of cheddar cheese. I was kind of hoping to be home for lunch but we have a few things we are waiting on and I got hungry.
1:00 package of ramen and a 12 oz glass of milk. Ramen is really my comfort food. I eat far more of it than I would like but it is quick and still tasty to me after all these years. Sometimes it is a quick fall back because I am too lazy to think of something actually healthy to eat.
3:00 Popcorn with butter and salt and nutritional yeast. can of mt dew and Saw 4. Not really sure why I still watch these movies but I do and how much popcorn did I eat- no way of knowing as I ate as I watched.
8:30 12 oz milk and about 8 cheese pizza poppers. Timony didn't watch the movie with me and turned it on later so I got sucked back into watching it and eating some pizza poppers.

nov 27

Slept in this morning until about 7:00 had a potato pancake with applesauce and a dollop of sour cream and 1 can on mt. dew
11:30 oriental ramen noodles and 16 oz of milk
2:00 can of mt dew, snacked on potato chips and my moms homemade onion dip and a couple pieces of bread with spinach dip.
3:00 glass of water
4:00 glass of water, 2 cheese piriogies, roll, asparagus, cherry applesauce, stuffing, cauliflower au gratin
5:00 very very small slice of pumpkin pie and cherry pie- about the size of my thumb
7:00 big cup of lemon ginger tea and 2 tsps of sugar
8:00 12 oz milk

Here is the odd bit- I normally would have had mashed potatoes but my yucky brother made them so I did not eat any. Come to find out he had augmented them so I probably would not have liked them anyway. hehehe For the most part, I hung out with my nieces and my friend Christian up in the sun room. We took a bunch of goofy pictures and had a nice time. Complete avoid brother so there was no confrontation because why would you confront a chair? Talked with Avalon in the evening. She seems excited about coming home. Always a good thing. Briefly talked with Colleen and wished her a happy day. I think she kind of had fun cooking dinner with her friends. After dinner we snuggled on the couch and watched MIB and MIB II. Dreamt about aliens.

nov 26th

5:30 up and sewing hems on weaving projects.
7:15 1/2 cup oatmeal with a 1tsp of butter, cinnamon, 1 banana, 1/4 cup milk and 2 tbsp brown sugar. 1 can of mt. dew
8:30 cup of mint tea with 3 heaping tsp sugar.
11:30 Peanut butter and apricot jam sandwich and can of coke
2:00 can of mt dew
5:30 two potato pancakes with homemade cherry applesauce and a couple dollops of sour cream. 12 oz white cranberry juice.
the waiting at work is hard. There is nothing you can do but wait. Almost like before a storm, the way the pressure builds and when it breaks there is a sense of relief for now you either have water for the crops or it will wash the crops away. I am hoping for the first bit.
I am bringing a friend with me to my folks for Thanksgiving who strongly reminds me of me at her age. She is 21. Which is kind of strange as she is only 2 years older than Timony.
Now off to me mums to make pirogies for tomorrows dinner.

Tuesday Nov 25th

up at 5:30am 1 can of mountain dew
Wove on my floor loom until 6:45
7:15am english muffin with butter, 1 slice of havarti cheese and a double egg-white poached egg. I did not cook it firm enough and ended up wearing most of the yolk. My dogs were happy.
9:30 can of coke
10:00 cup of lemon ginger tea
11:30 barley and veggie leftovers with cheese- probably a cup and 1/2
2:35 can of mountain dew and dried roasted peanuts large handful
4:45pm 12 oz white cranberry juice and an undisclosed amount of puffy cheetoes. Undisclosed only because I paid no attention to the number. maybe 3 cups of puffy cheetoes.
The day was mostly good. Stressing over lack of work coming in and we have been in this lull for such a long time now that our reserves are nearly depleted. It was a scrounge night for dinner which usually means left over and we have a bunch. But I was feeling lazy and Buffy was in the DVD player and so cheetoes won the dinner toss.
